Fabulous Whale Watching

Baja Jones delivers an outstanding whale watching experience, from the pick-up in San Diego, to the twice daily gray whale watching trips, to the hospitality at camp, right to the return back to San Diego.
Whale watching in Laguna Ojo de Liebre is unique in the world. The intimate encounters and beauty of the whales is phenomenal. I spent 10 days at the Baja Jones camp in Laguna Ojo de Liebre so I saw lots of people coming to visit. All of the guests agreed that Keith Jones runs an excellent operation and is quick to respond to emails or calls, taking the time to talk to each client as part of the trip planning process. There are huts and larger cabins, some with bathroom and shower ensuite. There is an option for a small commode in the hut. Full maid service added to the comfort of the basic accommodations. The food was delicious and plentiful-3 meals a day. Patty is an outstanding chef. Twice daily whale watching outings in boats holding up to 10 guests provide ample opportunity to see and even touch the whales. It is the whales’ call as to whether they wish to interact. The boat launch is a 5-minute drive from camp and a van provides all guests transportation to the launch. There is also the option to walk back and forth on a safe and scenic dirt road. A staff member gets the tickets and accompanies the group on the boat.
